1. What is the IBK Museum?

The IBK Museum is an online museum.
Sometimes there are also exhibitions in real places.
You can visit these exhibitions.
IBK is a short form. IBK means Ingenieur Baukunst.
That is a German name.
IBK means: The Art of Engineering
The IBK Museum shows mostly things on screens.
That is why it is also called: Digital Museum for the Art of Engineering
What does 'engineer' mean?
'Engineer' is a job. An engineer is a person who knows a lot about technology. Engineers plan, build, or fix things like houses, machines, bridges, or cars.
What does 'building art' mean?
Building art means: When we build something, we use knowledge and good ideas from technology and from culture. A building should not only be useful - it should also make life better and more beautiful. The way it looks, the materials, and how it is made help people live better and more comfortably.

2. What can you see in the museum?

In the IBK Museum, you can see seven buildings that do not exist anymore.
You can see these buildings and their exciting stories.
All these buildings were already destroyed or taken down.
The buildings were special.
They were built with new building techniques.
You can look at these buildings at home on your computer (online).
You can also download the buildings.
Sometimes you can visit an exhibition in real life.

4. Why is not everything in easy language?

The IBK Museum is working on making the website accessible for everyone.
There is a lot of information in the IBK Museum.
Some information is very difficult.
Soon, everyone should be able to understand the whole website. For that, we need more time.
